About me
My name is Michael Powell,
and I am currently a third year Ph.D student in the Economics department of
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I was born in Los Gatos,
California on September 9th, 1982, and I grew up in the neighboring city of
San Jose. After attending several community colleges in the Silicon
Valley and ultimately receiving an AA in Liberal Arts from West Valley
College in Saratoga, I transferred to UCLA where I completed a joint BA/MA
program in Economics with a minor in Mathematics.
